Mark Lawrence has joined HM Insurance Group (HM) as senior vice president, underwriting. In this role, Lawrence will be responsible for meeting HM Stop Loss revenue and profitability goals while providing executive leadership to the company’s underwriting department.

Lawrence comes to HM from Everest Reinsurance Company, a global leader in reinsurance and insurance, where he served as the chief underwriter with top and bottom line responsibility for multiple lines of business including primary self-funded medical, insurance and reinsurance for direct and partner relationships. Prior to his time at Everest Reinsurance Company, Lawrence worked in underwriting leadership roles for Canada Life Assurance Company and LDG Re, a division of HCC.
With more than 20 years of experience, Lawrence brings extensive knowledge in the development of long-term, profitable and growing relationships with clients in the accident, health and reinsurance markets. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology from the University of Regina in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
