HM Insurance Group Expands Its Stop Loss Captive Solution to National Market

PITTSBURGH – HM Insurance Group (HM), a leading national stop loss company, has expanded access to its stop loss captive solution that targets groups with 50 to 300 enrolled employees.

Employers nationwide now have the opportunity to participate in the HM Stop Loss Captive, which provides an alternative financial arrangement for those who wish to self-fund their employee medical benefits in a program that works to reduce claim volatility and provide opportunities for potential savings through pooled risk.

This expansion also provides brokers across the country with a new cost-efficient program to add to their suite of client offerings as they work to win, retain, and grow client relationships in a challenging market.

“At HM, we focus on providing diverse solutions for customers in a constantly evolving industry,” Eric Berg, chief operating officer, said. “Our captive solution was built within the structure of our nationally recognized stop loss offering, while also complementing the work we already do in delivering protection to single-parent captives through our HM Specialty reinsurance business.”

Participation in the HM Stop Loss Captive provides flexibility in the selection of administrators and provider networks, while applying the financial stability, underwriting expertise, and long-term pricing approach of an experienced stop loss carrier. Participants also have access to the HMConnectsTM cost containment program to help manage the impact of rising healthcare claim costs.
